Cherokee School provides a program for students who are experiencing significant emotional problems, often with learning deficits as well. It is the most restrictive setting in Orange County Public Schools. We serve students in Grades K-6 from all over Orange County. An Individual Educational Plan (IEP) is developed for each student, which addresses both behavioral and academic needs. The IEP is reviewed each year and program changes are made when needed. Cherokee uses a very structured level system to help the child work his or her way back to his home school and to be successful. Parent involvement is strongly encouraged.
